Re: I don't know what I want (Buyer's guide)

i want some black workwear-ish cotton trousers, seems dickies are the obvious choice but idk if they have a sheen to them due to the poly. to wear with blue craig green nylon jacket so i'd prefer matt/textured. any ideas?

Re: Techdad Discussion

i randomly re-read this hito steyerl essay from 2008 or so, about the humble import of degraded jpegs as the drones of the still-nascent attention economy (reminds me of the bootleg chris marker dvds i used to get under the counter at broadway market, or i guess even the chinese guys selling bootleg...

Re: Photography thread

i meant those preconscious affects are not eternal and unshifting. since 1980 not just the entire way of making images but also the way they are circulated/disseminated has changed beyond recognition. just one example, the way he talks about the polish soldiers- a long time since i read but he says ...

Re: I don't know what I want (Buyer's guide)

Any recs for a camel beige overcoat? My budget's about 150 quid (around 200 US bux), so I'll most likely have to look at something used regardless. this is surprisingly nice (colour is a lot less bright irl) https://www.arket.com/en_gbp/men/jackets-coats/product.double-breasted-wool-coat-beige.0764...

Re: School

i used to tell artists who complained their conceptual work had zero sales value/part time 'adjunct lecturer' jobs were shit that they should get into plumbing/electricals as a side gig. but lets face it no sensitive teen is going to actually do that.

Re: Ask a question, get an answer

relationally, how have pubs in provincial towns that once banned stoney coped with the hipster/endclothing dad £800 revival? like did they adapt/relent? and if so, when? were they slow to pick up on the new demographic, and went bankrupt missing out on premium artisanal lager consumers?

Re: Suit 'spo

hmm ok, well assuming you would go with wool i would try something like a hopsack.. a slightly rougher (without being overtly textured) weave will give a more matte appearance.
dorks will tell you not to wear black suits but they can look great if you do it right.
