Perhaps I just like gasoline and going fast, but there are few things outside of personal clothing that I think most people relate to so personally like a car or motorcycle. There's so much passion, design, and engineering that goes into these mechanical marvels. Whether you like a fire breathing tr...
It's nice to see quite a few new shapes coming from RO. He's been moving to more rigid fabrics to create his architectural look, and I like how he used softer fabrics with the boxier shapes to give more flow. I think the thing I like the most is that it actually looks like things you can wear in the...
I'd be wary of some of the Rick bottoms if you're tall. Pods and some of the short like things he puts out look real shitty if they hit you at our knee or above. Though he made some shorty shorts that hit mid thigh last spring that looked p cool with a jacket. I'm by no means "tall," but a...
Well military aesthetics are generally made to highlight strength and power, to broaden shoulders and slim waistlines. It's little surprise that fashion has latched on to those visual cues. A lot of these pieces are functional too, which makes them even more appealing. I can see why designers wouldn...
They're YYPH AW09. It's made from this big thick cotton with a fleecing on the inside, and they're reverseable to boot! Also, I'm still on the hunt for a big lightwieght cardi or jacket. It's surprisingly difficult to find the lighter weight pieces.
Thanks for the article! I really enjoy reading well thought out opinions that make reflect on my held beliefs. It's funny, I find myself disagreeing with the overall premise but agreeing with parts and pieces. What I felt was that this person sees that our education system isn't working, and suggest...
Wow! I was really on the fence about the hobbled together and frayed aesthetic, but once the knits came out something clicked. The cable knit blazers and pants are remarkable. Everything took a left turn with the trippy velvet suits, and then ended with taped on looking designs on pants and jackets....
Any c-t people regret their degree choice? Yes and no. I couldn't pursue what I wanted to do because of financial constraints, so I just did what I needed to do to graduate. I wound up in a job kinda sorta related to what I wanted to do with things I'm passionate about. I'm happy with how things tu...
If y'all haven't been following the SF Yohji thread, there is a wonderful series of pictures from an exhibition of some of his work that David lee posted. http://www.styleforum.net/content/type/61/id/1375035/width/500/height/1000/flags/LL http://www.styleforum.net/content/type/61/id/1375031/width/50...
Man the talk of burpees reminds me of doing updowns in full pads for football. There was something special about being able to drop straight down and not feel a thing.
I think my fondness for them is more clouded my nostalgia, but man up downs were great.
