No fancy camera sorry. Also instruments slightly in the way, my rooms small so oh well. What combo of buttons should I use. Not sure what would look best, currently experimenting but suggestions appreciated.
Whiplash is amazing. Miles Teller and JK Simmons both put in really tense, believable performances. Miles Teller really looked like was putting in his last ounces of energy when drumming. There were so many times where the movie could have ended, but it kept going (although done past tastefully, no ...
I think I'm gonna switch majors again. Can't do this CS thing anymore. I still like coding somewhat but I'm not interested in setting myself up to pursue it as a career. Plus the CS pedagogy at my school is whack. I kinda dig the idea of web design so I'll probably take 1 more class in that focus si...
Regarding mitigation I think it's very necessary. Not only because of the reasons vgtbls mentioned but also because of the current trajectory we're on towards breaking the 2 degrees Celsius change figure. I don't doubt that the trajectory will change as time passes but I worry it will be too late. I...
@StingraySam Concerning your rep saying "climate change doesn't end with veganism" what's the meaning behind that? I feel as if you're implying that I said it does? I'll contend that it's hard to extract much from 6 words on the internet so excuse me if I'm wrong. If that's what you meant,...
Thought hard about my occasional consumption of dairy and purchasing of leather within the context of my being a climate activist. As somebody who criticizes corporations for not being able to take selfishness out of their thought process when dealing with their impact on the climate/environment, I ...
To add to the rebuttal to the "animal's eat other animals, human's are omnivorous" argument, I don't think this is a viable one at large BECAUSE meat is industrialized. The entire meat industry, from genetic modifications, antibiotics, tools, distribution systems, etc are not natural so it...
I've had my vitamix for a couple years. powerful thing, love it. I like taking frozen fruit and grinding it into a healthy alt to sorbet. The wand thing comes in super handy because you can push stuff down instead of having to stop, shake, use a spoon to dislodge stuff and then get super frustrated.
been ~99% vegan for a while. been in the game too long to ever eat meat or eggs again probably. occasionally eat milk chocolate, cheese pizza and donuts and also been buying leather shoes and wool. not sure how i feel about leather shoes, but i feel no guilt about it. maybe one day I will stop.
Getting a broken item from ebay that was claimed to be in good condition and having to go through the whole process of opening a case, waiting for the seller to respond, shipping the item back on your own dime (the fuck ebay, i get it if it was my fault but this is stupid), transferring the money ba...
fuck you so called friends/roommates. I left a really fucking cool bike race that I was volunteering at because you guys invited me/wanted to hang out, and now you're not fucking answering me? fuck that, you guys suck and i don't know how it's taken me this long to reach the tipping point of just n...
Some really great quotes from Brian Eno in here http://stoney.sb.org/eno/oblique.html. Very useful for thinking about what you're creating or doing. The obliqueness leaves room for interpretation too.
Goals for august: Get on a good grind for the school year. Get rid of mice in mom's house before I go back to school Buy some music equipment and then start a cop freeze. Donate any old shit I don't need Goals for year: Get fitter Read a lot Make music Do some dope environmental work Do well in clas...
sorry to break up the discussion here, but does anyone belong to any organized social/political/economic equality groups IRL, especially on campus? this fall some friends and i are looking to bring together the two big progressive factions on campus, namely the male-dominated marxists and the femal...
Watched boyhood yesterday. Really good and nostalgic. A great undertaking that payed off. I've heard some complaints of cheesiness or poor acting but I feel like at times of cheesiness, it was only as cheesy as real life can get and the poor acting was really just what I feel these characters in rea...
I did/do but it was more how it unfolded that was wack in which previously, if something didn't work out we would split up or find an alt solution and that's chill, I would be down to do my own thing because I do know they want to go to bars. But this time the way everything unfolded sort of put me ...
Anything to do late night in san Francisco/bay are for people under 21? Also, if anyone is down to chill/be my guide ill be around thru Thursday. Also, gonna be in Denver Saturday and Chicago Sunday night and Monday. What's good with those places? Anywhere I could crash in Chicago potentially.
Weird feels. Been on a roadtrip for the past week and been connecting real well with the group. But today we got to san Francisco and they all wanted to hit up bars. I'm the only one under 21 so I just sorta wandered when I got shut down at the door. Weird that all except one guy didn't want to just...
