Re: Deadkitty's 30 Hour Meals [food thread]

Bought a hunk of pork shoulder earlier and decided to do a chinese version of carnitas late last night. Turned out pretty well actually, honestly can't remember exactly what/how much I put in, but it was some combination of five spice, star anise, korean (?) chilis, ginger, garlic, etc. The usual su...

Re: Prawnzee's Saturday Kitchen [food thread]

Gyukotsu ramen experiment! Can't get pork bones out where I live, so decided to see what would happen if I used beef. http://i.imgur.com/9jLayhSl.jpg Broth after about 20 hours of boiling. http://i.imgur.com/IeO2G8ul.jpg Didn't really know exactly what kind/ratio of bones would work best, but I thin...

Re: Prawnzee's Saturday Kitchen [food thread]

fun fact! chanko nabe is basically the kitchen sink version of nabe for sumo wrestlers. high bean energy and calories, but also makes the broth delicious after all the meat is picked out (throw some udon in there afterwards, will blow your mind).

Re: Best of WAYWT

Man I used to knock instagram filters but they're way easier than fixing things in photoshop sometimes. It's fun to be a little dramatic every so often anyway.

first time making (chanko) nabe, turned out pretty well. finished product (added beef, meatballs, salmon and chicken later) was gone too fast for me to snap a pic lol http://i.imgur.com/V8mukJBl.jpg made gyudon with the leftover beef the next day http://i.imgur.com/MhzxTJul.jpg

Re: Prawnzee's Saturday Kitchen [food thread]

@sknss There's rice cake, pork, dried shiitake, enoki and napa cabbage in this one. You can throw in a variety of veggies/mushrooms though.

Made beef bourguignon today but that doesn't really photograph well lol

(clarifying edit: I didn't even bother, was also busy eating  )

Re: The Future Is Curatorial

I have my eye on this coat( http://www.attachment.co.jp/kazuyukikumagai/images/10/15.jpg ) since I missed it last spring, but not really sure if I'm gonna pick it up. Other than that, I'm pretty satisfied with what I have for now. I'll take more detailed pictures later when I'm less sleep deprived..

Re: The Future Is Curatorial

bela encouraged me to post about my KKA collection here, but it's honestly pretty sparse - not really "collection" in any significant sense. here's a picture of the KKA stuff separated out, couple shirts, leather, shawl collar "stole jacket" thing, a handful of blazers and the h...

Re: Prawnzee's Saturday Kitchen [food thread]

eli7 1 cup flour : 2/3 cups dashi : 1.5-2 eggs ratio for the batter. Shred a bunch of cabbage (coleslaw for turbo lazy mode) and mix it into the dough with some chopped green onions, to the point where the dough is only barely holding the mixture together. Mix in literally anything you like - commo...

Re: graphic t-shirts

Yeah. To reiterate, I don't know exactly where I stand on this. And to answer your question, she was pretty popular back in the 80s (which is why her suicide resulted in copycats), though her death is arguably more well known than her songs because of it. I'm more trying to sort out why the hell it ...

Re: graphic t-shirts

I'm ambivalent. If every graphic tee was "just a tee" we wouldn't even have this thread. Dismissing it outright is missing the entire point. Serious question though -- you don't think printing the face of a person who is literally famous for causing a string of copycat suicides after her d...

Not sure if it's listed on Rak, but found this in a sz 4 at Kind for like 28000 yen. Would have seriously considered it if it was my size (paging odradek ?) http://25.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_lytn5aAsgm1qbblino1_500.jpg Edit: here it is http://global.rakuten.com/en/store/kind-u/item/570014009575/

Re: Prawnzee's Saturday Kitchen [food thread]

Spent the long weekend in Sapporo with a friend and basically went on a 24 hour miso ramen binge after looking up some of the famous shops. Even though I went at weird hours there was always a line out the door at every place. First stop in the evening after I got off the plane was Sumire, one of th...
