Re: What are you reading today/book club

I also took a little too long to read The Life and Death of the Great American City and just finished it a few days ago. I was surprised how modern the book felt considering that it’s over five and a half decades old. I enjoyed reading about housing density in cities and diversity of street life. Th...

Re: Music is my boyfriend

Anyone have suggestions or resources for upgrading my HiFi setup? I've been using an AT-LP60 and shitty bookshelf speakers since I first started listening to records a few years back and just came into some money, so I figure it's time to upgrade. I'm aiming toward an entry level audiophile price po...

Re: ✿゚・❀ Pheasant Lolita ❤*✲゚*。

I've been working toward becoming a better peasant this year and have a couple of really neat purchases to share: a Bergfabel long Tyrol jacket and Cherevichkiotvichki derbies. These are two of my favorite brands and there's very little information available about either of them, so hopefully this w...

Re: What are you reading today/book club

I'm a little late, but just finished reading The Ministry of Utmost Happiness last night. I've been interested to read this because it's the first fiction Arundhati Roy has written since the Booker prize winning The God of Small Things two decades ago. While The God of Small Things took a more perso...

Re: Care-tags running club

I also had a great time in VT! It was a very nice race, lots of crowd support and some beautiful scenery. I think there were even some cows cheering at one point. Now that I've had a couple weeks of rest I've started marathon training again. I'm not signed up for anything yet, but someone in my loca...

Re: What are you reading today/book club

I just finished reading The Volcano Lover by Susan Sontag. I've been meaning to read some Sontag for a while and picked this up when I found a copy at my local bookshop. Sontag's a great judge of human nature, it was a pleasure to see how she developed the personalities of the novel's characters. Th...

Re: CARE-BnB

If any anime kids out there are going to Otacon you're welcome at my place. I'm not particularly close to downtown, but I make an excellent tour guide and can give recommendations on neat things to do which aren't within a block of the convention center.

Re: Toilet Water

tttigre Would you recommend the Visvim room spray? I've heard that No. 1 is considered the best, but I've never seen it in store to test it and I hate to blind buy fragrances. On the other hand, I like all things Visvim and niche fragrances and bougie home goods, so I feel like I'm the target audie...

Re: Captain Planet and the Planeteers [ecology]

I made it down to DC yesterday to attend the March for Science. Despite the poor weather, there was a strong turnout and good vibes all around. I was pleasantly surprised at the scarcity of counter-protestors, since I've heard from friends who attended the Women's March that things got a little dice...

Re: Care-tags running club

I ran a ten miler this past Sunday, which was a challenge race between all of the running clubs in Maryland and DC. My club got stomped, but it was a great time and I got to meet some really fast runners. Official times aren't posted yet, but I think I ran a 1:25:xx. Not my best time ever, but it wa...

Re: I don't know what I want (Buyer's guide)

Anth and Bobbin both make salient points. So many internet fashion kids nowadays try to objectively identify 'good clothing' and 'good style' but often end up wearing a uniform recommended to them by their fashion media outlet of choice. It's ironic that people think they need to spend oodles of mon...

Re: WANTED (dead or alive)

I really want a Soloist Regulator cardigan from FW12. Either the gray/black or tan/brown colorway would be nice, but it has to be size medium or larger. I've seen a few pop up on Rakuten or Yahoo Japan but always in a size XS. https://smlycdn.akamaized.net/data/product2/2/a2ae10a1f9f1aac78d62e62ceed...

Re: Kapital World :D

bels My guess would be that you want a size 3, size 2 in most Kapital is made for a true men's small. It's a little tricky with the ring coat because you're basically sizing for sleeve length. I had a conversation with Rue from Cotton Sheep about Kapital sizing when I was in San Francisco last year...
