Re: Ask a question, get an answer

That’s the impression I got as well. Though I first noticed it when reading Japanese fashion magazines from several years ago. It was also way more mainstream (and less unique to skate culture) in Japan when I went. So was it skateboarding culture in the US that influenced Japanese fashion or vice v...

Re: The Future Is Curatorial

Here's my collection of casual shoes and some camping bags to fill the voids. I want to switch it up a bit but I'm not sure what's next on the list.

Re: office trainers

I've been wanting to make a thread about this for a while because my attire at work is so different from what I wear normally. I used to work at a non-profit where OCBDs and jeans were acceptable everyday. Baseball caps and ripped jeans were ok on Fridays (if the boss liked you). The dress code at m...

Re: Coffee and tea-vee

I tried so many good teas in Japan. I've been having lots of Genmaicha since I've been home (first pic). Does anybody know what the default tea they serve at Matsuya is called? It's a brown tea and nobody I've shown the picture to seems to have an idea (second pic). https://i.imgur.com/4IjXswT.jpg h...

Re: Post pics of Volvos and Subarus

Do gifs count? https://media.giphy.com/media/JrYkE6HcaqxuccbggB/giphy.gif The old V70 is great. I'm glad Volvo still makes wagons but they're a bit too glam (plus I could never afford a new one). I'm thinking of maybe getting a crosstrek in the next couple years since the Outbacks have been supersized

Re: being made to serve the disciplines

Working as a city planner for the City in a pretty small city (400k). I'm glad I'm here and not in a global city though because 1. there's less work for me to do in places like that and and 2. I get to live close to work and pay a fraction of what I would in a bigger city. 35 hours Pretty chill envi...

Re: Here is ramdomthought!

When will the endless pictures of Moraine Lake, PNW, 'I'm moving to Portland/Colorado', hipsters of bozeman trend die? I thought it reached its logical conclusion with Socality Barbie in 2015 but it seems as alive as ever. I'm thinking we need to switch over to some Great Lakes hype.

Re: Hair

https://i.imgur.com/DvXakBG.jpg I've had the same haircut for like 5 years and I'm feeling uninspired especially combined with my plain business casual clothes at work. Maybe I need to style it a different way. I've thought about maybe shaving it or just trying something different with facial hair ...

Bringing this thread back from the dead... Is the whole 'moving constantly in your 20s for school and work' thing unique to our generation or has it always been this way? I just got back from visiting my girlfriend, friends, and family on the other side of the country and it is tough

I ended up finding a good deal on a flight to Tokyo, so I'm heading there instead of Taiwan. I'm there tomorrow until Sunday the 15th. Anyone in the area? I found a whole bunch of great looking place from searching old threads :woop:

Re: we're out of conversation and have nothing in common

Crazy to hear that it's getting cold in all the northern states. I'm in Ontario and it's ridiculously warm - there's still grass on the ground and it hasn't snowed once here yet.
