Re: What are you reading today/book club

I, like many others it would seem, got all fucked up by Normal People the TV show so I decided to get the book. The TV show was astonishingly true to the book, and I think I enjoyed the book more than the show. I felt like I could enjoy the pacing more. (Sally Rooney is the author) I decided to rea...

Re: Photography thread

Hawaii in February. I'm pretty stoked on these though they're a bit more grainy than expected. Re: What are you reading today/book club

What's everyone reading right now? Are you reading more or less during the pandemic? At first I wasn't reading at all but now that parks are open I'm pretty much sitting on benches and reading whenever I can. I read Conversations with Friends and Normal People earlier this year, and now I'm 700 page...

Re: Here is ramdomthought!

But there are poor people in big cities too, so I don't really get it. Other than...of course...the obvious..........RACIAL implications.....of country poor vs city poor. Yeah pretty much - a lot of the dialogue gets reduced to tech gentrifier vs locals when the people moving in could be lower/midd...

Re: Here is ramdomthought!

JewTurk why do you think it's bad to bring in Silicon Valley money into rural areas? because of gentrification + pushing out the people who currently live there? I remembering reading this article a while back and thought I'd share. It gets into this exact thing: Educated tech workers are able to t...

Re: office trainers

I seem to constantly spill things on my work clothes. Either that or I notice more since I spend so much time ironing them. I've also noticed my work clothes seem to fall apart pretty quickly. The stitching on the front pockets is always the first to go. I've resorted to air drying everything. Have ...

Re: Songs Noah will bother listening to

It looks like this thread got merged into the other music one?

Anyway a while ago I started making a spotify playlist with all the songs on here. I didn't get too far since it takes a long time but feel free to listen or contribute.

Re: Photography thread

Got a roll of film back. A lot of it didn't turn out but I don't mind because it's so much more challenging and rewarding than shooting digital. I'm thinking of picking up some Portra or trying this Canon Sure Shot Joy that my parents used to use when I was a kid. https://i.imgur.com/rzCK7MP.jpg htt...

Re: Belly rubs [food thread]

Made my first box curry. It tasted better than my photo. I'm going to try to cook a lot more this coming year because it's relaxing and so much cheaper.

Re: Bikes

Anyone frequent a local bike co-op they particularly like? I've become enamored with them and want to visit them all... Re: Ask a question, get an answer

That’s the impression I got as well. Though I first noticed it when reading Japanese fashion magazines from several years ago. It was also way more mainstream (and less unique to skate culture) in Japan when I went. So was it skateboarding culture in the US that influenced Japanese fashion or vice v...

I've been wanting to make a thread about this for a while because my attire at work is so different from what I wear normally. Re: Post pics of Volvos and Subarus

Do gifs count? https://media.giphy.com/media/JrYkE6HcaqxuccbggB/giphy.gif The old V70 is great. I'm glad Volvo still makes wagons but they're a bit too glam (plus I could never afford a new one). I'm thinking of maybe getting a crosstrek in the next couple years since the Outbacks have been supersized

Re: Here is ramdomthought!

When will the endless pictures of Moraine Lake, PNW, 'I'm moving to Portland/Colorado', hipsters of bozeman trend die? I thought it reached its logical conclusion with Socality Barbie in 2015 but it seems as alive as ever. I'm thinking we need to switch over to some Great Lakes hype.
