Re: homes, houses, and abodes n plants

Not a huge fan of SANAA in general but this space seems really amazing. EDIT: Excuse my laziness. SANAA is an architecture office. EDIT2: I think plants are like good music, you don't need an argument for them. It's just beautiful, it doesn't need any further rationalizations. https://i.pinimg.com/o...

Re: Techdad Discussion

Very late to the Bladerunner party, but here is architecture office Barozzi Veigas original proposal which the movie uses (with approval of course) for Wallace's HQ: EDIT: This is unfortunately not a built project, just a competition entry. http://barozziveiga.com/wp-content/uploads/BV_PIL-model-02-...

Re: You Ain't Got No Yeezy In Your Threadlist?

I think he wants to break free of being identified within the group identity of being black. I think he is striving for being viewed as an individual first and then a black person, instead of vice versa. Not to play down what he said, but after saying that slavery is a choice he goes on to say 'we'r...

Re: What can you do in the centre of town except spend money

Visit churches/religious buildings. They are usually impressive spaces, and open most of the time. This is a full-on hobby for me at this point. Especially ones built after 1900.

Re: Feelings

I have lived by the principle of not dating classmates/colleagues for somthing like eleven years. In retrospect it seems stupid to hold something experienced as a 14 y/o as a principle for so long. I have been working with this amazing girl for seven months now, and I finally asked her out to a date...

I'm going to travel Europe starting this Tuesday the 15th. My plan is to visit Cologne, Prague, Vienna, Budapest, Sofia, Ankara, Ljubljana, Kraków and I'll be traveling for a month. If anyone lives around these parts and want to meet up that would be really fun! I'm going to couchsurf as much as pos...

Re: embroidered with fl

I've started remaking an old sweater with some rose embroidery. It's gonna go all around the sweater like a collar. The red is insanely hard to photograph, but it looks closer to the top photo than the bottom one. http://i.imgur.com/Q40mrN9.jpg http://i.imgur.com/kA8StDM.jpg

After ordering a bunch of key rings and 1 mm brass links the links FINALLY arrived last week. I had given up hope of receiving them, but they finally arrived something like 2-3 months late. I've had an idea to make this sort of modular t-shirt for a while where there are basically points of attachme...

It's been a while since I've posted, ct! How are you all? On January first I quit meat cold turkey. It's been about three years since I was a vegetarian last, and I can tell you I really, really did not eat nutritiously back then. Yeah I think I should've worded it more carefully. I guess it's really the edit part that I'm wondering about. Is it self-expression if you're not making the clothes yourself?

If you look closely at water draining from a kitchen sink you can see the refraction disappear with the water. It's like the water is zoomed out. I just noticed it.

Re: Being-in-the-world [architecture thread]

I feel like I need to adress the quote below in more than 140 characters as I'm reading Sylvia Lavin's 'Quatremére and the invention of a modern language of architecture' and the quote is highly relevant to a lot of Quatremére's theories. However it seemed too off topic to write a long post about ar...
