Re: Technology

Really good book on this subject by Adam Greenfield: Radical Technologies: The Design of Everyday Life Re: touch/face ID right now the US does not consider forcing unlocking of the phone via TouchID to be a violation of the 5th Amendment (though it clearly ought to be). So if you have anything less ...

Re: Technology

New iPhones - the 8/8+ look to be pretty much a typical upgrade more akin to an "S". The X is certainly different, but gonna hold off and see how people actually like using the FaceID stuff and lack of home button.

Qi wireless charging though!

Re: What are you reading today/book club

Suggestions for the next book? I'd like to do something either genre (scifi / fantasy / mystery?) or nonfiction, but don't let that stop you from suggesting something else. My thoughts: ⋅ I know Murder on the Orient Express has a movie coming out soon - Agatha Christie mystery ⋅ ...

Re: What are you reading today/book club

I'm a little late, but just finished reading The Ministry of Utmost Happiness last night. I've been interested to read this because it's the first fiction Arundhati Roy has written since the Booker prize winning The God of Small Things two decades ago. While The God of Small Things took a more pers...

Re: forum updates/info

we've been getting a lot of spam lately from emails on the .top tld - if you've got an email ending with .top, please let me know. otherwise i'm going to ban that domain this weekend. I didn't see any usernames that didn't look spammy, but I'd rather be safe than sorry!

Re: Feelings

My suggestion, having been in similar places before, is to quit the internet / social media. FOMO is real, but it's not a big deal in the overall scope of things. The first few hours are pure agony but then your brain starts working again and you end up finding new stuff to do that brings enjoyment ...

There's a bunch of decorations around the bar, and the RTJ specific drinks and cocktails are named after either the albums (RTJ 1-3) or some songs (Sea Legs, Angel Duster). I was a...

Re: RISE FROM YOUR GRAVE

So Supergiant (Bastion, Transister) just launched their new game, Pyre... it's pretty much a basketball RPG. Really fun, only $20.
