Re: ramdom fashion thoughts

mc-lunar I like joggers, I have some and just ordered another pair, I said ''poorly made joggers''.. most notably talking about brands like Publish or even Zanerobe, although I've seen Zanerobe's fit some people quite well, a lot of guys buy them just because they are zanerobe joggers even though t...

Re: ramdom fashion thoughts

So many people in my city now wearing poorly made joggers with regularly cut cheap t-shirts that are 2 sizes too big for them.

Re: overdressed, undereducated: let's talk about school!

I'm in Poli Sci, I had a ''concrete'' job that paid significantly more than I am likely to make when I graduate this winter, I bought a house, had a car and a dog and the whole shebang but I was pretty unhappy. I don't regret taking poli sci, I find the subject pretty interesting and I don't think I...

Re: feeltalk thread

Pretty excited.. It's been 2 months since I left Seoul and my girlfriend, and she's coming here on Saturday for a 5 day visit...It's not much but it's all she could get off of work at the time and it means a lot to me that she would spend 2 grand and all that travel time to come to the middle of now...

Re: I don't know what I want (Buyer's guide)

@papabear perfect, thanks, I actually asked in that WAYWT what pants those were.. but do you know which model they actually are? All of the ones on their site look to be a little more slim/tapered than what he is wearing.

Re: Hardcore grinding

cameron- 's post above regarding Toms kinda sparked me to write this.. I don't know the exact motivations of the people who started Toms shoes or how many shoes they have actually put on kids, it's probably a good thing if they have/are actually helping people but since they hit it big the number o...

Re: 'trainers by the truck load, trainers by the tonne'

lol @ that list.. As an NB lover I'm a little bit hurt, also always kinda liked purcels though never actually owned a pair. I don't like most Nike's but agree with UnwashedMolasses on Air Max's and a couple others being nice trainers. I work part time in a store that stocks Adidas/NB/Puma/Nike and e...

Re: feeltalk thread

I have been back in Canada for like 2 months now, there are still a lot of people I haven't seen since I came home.. I'm going into my last semester of Political Science, and this weekend ended up at a local pub and ran into a group of guys I used to play Hockey with. One guy was pretty drunk and st...

Re: I don't know what I want (Buyer's guide)

I'm in need of some help... I need a black trouser and haven't been able to find anything that is exactly what I'm looking for. Before I left Korea I tried on a pair at the CDG store that were perfect, forget if they were Junya or Homme Plus but it didn't matter because they were $900 ... Basically ...

Re: Television rules the nation

Utopia was one of the most compelling pieces of television I've seen in a long time. The sheer intensity of it all and the composition/visual choices/music create such an unnerving world. Episode three in particular, jesus. I hadn't watched it until a couple of days ago when I read this post, just ...

Re: Television rules the nation

The network 'starz' has been surprising me lately.. I didn't really like Spartacus at all but I just finished season 1 of Black Sails, an hour long drama about pirates, and really enjoyed it. Also I just watched the premier of their new show Outlander and think it will be a really great show, produc...

Re: The Jan Jan Van Essche Thread

I think I first saw Jan Jan in the Belgian designer thread here on c-t and since then have become obsessed with him, his style is basically what I have been searching for myself for quite some time, and I had that ''aha!'' moment you get when you find something you feel like was made for you. A lot ...

Re: ramdom fashion jorts

I was torn on whether or not to post this in random jorts or here, decided on here because it's somewhat related to fashion. A constant theme around me, and something I am noticing that is a constant conflict for many entrepreneurs or artists in the fashion world (designers, boutique owners, etc.) i...

Re: overdressed, undereducated: let's talk about school!

@jewturk It's a cool path to take if that's what you want to do. When I was in Korea I met a few people with similar degrees working for international companies in Korea or even Korea companies... It would probably benefit you to know/learn an Asian language and be willing to work abroad as well.

Re: bricks and mortar

I have worked in retail clothing basically since I was 15 and still do as a part time job while I finish University, I love brick and mortar stores and it's something that I'm really passionate about..I still VERY rarely buy anything online, I think if you've worked in retail, especially in an area ...

Re: There is a runway show inside everyone

I always thought it would be hilarious to gather 30-40 people from traditionally fashion unconscious areas of the world...like 45 year old soccer moms from Omaha, ranchers from Texas, or oil rig workers from Alberta. Ask them to critique each piece of your collection individually worn by models (bes...

bela (thanks syeknom) I actually feel dumb cause I've brought her up in a few convo's already, I don't mean to be ''that guy'' but it's just been a couple situations relevant to things her and I have discussed. I actually told her about c-t and how much I like it and she thought it sounded cool but...

@Rosenrot (how do I actually tag your name? I'm stupid) Take it for what it's worth because it's pretty anecdotal, but my gf got her Degree in Fashion Design at Bunka Fashion College in Tokyo, and had Yohji as a sessional lecturer/instructor multiple times. She doesn't talk much about it or him but ...

We got the BWGH x Puma stuff at the store I work at.. It's really nice stuff, the shoes all have really nice texture in the fabric, though the colors look a lot more vibrant in those pictures. It's cool stuff and the price isn't bad.. I might get a pair of the salmon toes tough I still think the sal...

Re: "I study Fashion academically"

Well said, I guess it's just easy for us to jump to the conclusion or hope that the fashion world would be more forward thinking, or even that women would be more well represented due to women being the majority of most brands demographics.

Re: "I study Fashion academically"

I am somewhat surprised that the number isn't more tilted in favor of men, my girlfriend has worked on quite a few design teams for a few companies ranging from SPA brands to '' high fashion '' in both mens and womens wear, and says that the only time she ever works with a male designer, he is likel...
