pimp my ride
I'd love to see some of your favorite custom pieces- stuff you modified or someone modified for you. Can include tailoring, embellishing, destroying etc. Anything one-of-a-kind.
Re: pimp my ride
I made these out of some too-small apcs that were sitting in my closet for years, some grey naked and famouses I found at a goodwill and some levis. Left the fly as a weird little pocket I never use. I've done a lot of diy/messing around with clothes out of a compulsion to make fashion a productive hobby rather than a consumptive one and these are one of the few things I can still say I'm genuinely proud of.

Re: pimp my ride
Some one else posted so now I can share the jacket and some other bits
I also have these jeans that are legitimately falling apart I'm trying to hang onto. Embroidered patches are from xinijia
and these fatigues that I embroidered but I also cropped and tapered them quite poorly so they hang a little weird

Embroidered/bound darts on an old knit tank top. If you've seen Kepler London, that was my inspo!

Re: pimp my ride
This is a cheap crosspost but these pants from my WAYWT post:
they're Dickies double-knees that I bought 14 sizes up and hacked apart to add double pleats in the front and a box pleat in the back, then cut the hems off to length

Re: pimp my ride
Quick experiment on an xl ribbed sweater- used cream yarn to weave a diamond mesh net. Same kind as a basketball net (o: >
I liked this sweater except it bunched at the center/waist.. the net panel cut down the bulk and helped it drape better.

Re: pimp my ride
double post today- a while ago I got this lime green large sweater and envisioned making it look like morning grass. I pressed layers of bleached and dyed foliage into the sweater to create plant 'shadows', then sewed free-form spiderwebs throughout. topped it off with some 'dew' beading.

Re: pimp my ride
made this shirt jacket thing in high school from a flannel and sweater. Has held up remarkably well seeing as im almost done with college. Still very warm and fun.
Re: pimp my ride
The jacket component to my blu du chine (procured by my dear friend @sknss) has had a few mods. Embroidered fennel bulb (incomplete pre covid project) and flower patch (completed intra covid project) both from my dear friend @p3rn. On the other side I sewed some webbing in because the shallow pockets meant things were always falling out. It's an outfit I wear almost exclusively in the house I like to carry a lot of stuff in the pockets like pens, craft knives etc and the webbing gives them something to clip to.
Trousers haven't been modded (yet) mostly I just fixed the belt loop and pocket bags when they tore so they are movies.
Re: pimp my ride
A few patch/repair jobs.
Carhartt vest w/quilted pocket + added breast pocket. Cat eye patches are reflective for [redacted] at night.
Had a jean company add on the leather side pocket + do some repairs, have added more repairs over time.

Re: pimp my ride
had a cobalt blue 100% cotton knit skirt
threw it on our roof for 3 months with boiling salt water and some sh*t on top of it
let it sunbleach
I like it better now
[even though sometimes manufacturing a sense of time/decay is cringe to me]

Does anyone have advice on drawing on tshirt? Thinking of using markers, but have 0 clue how to start and products to buy (market brands). Does anyone have advice / tutorials I can view?
