recently copped a pair of jeans, they are called "trouser jeans" and have a nice wide cuffed leg. vintage gap from unique thrift.

then I treated myself to a Save the Queen dress on ebay.

finally I got basketball shoes because my old ones have lost their sole. secondhand bron soldiers.

~Ode to my vests~
I love vests on femme bodies, especially alone on skin.
It took awhile for me to find vests that didn't look too suburban mom or too Hot Topic. Here are my two:




Love the multiple pockets, the color fading, the side tabs, the weight. Sarah Connor without being over the top (imo).




The heavyweight linen and the extra large bow in back are the big sells for me on this one. Also the halter, the xl snaps, and the looseness of the fit. It's quite sexy to me without losing its androgyny.

Up next: one-pieces. Currently I have two but a few in storage that might return to the fold. This also excludes what I call my "fantasy closet" which has a few formal and insane dresses.


This one was not going on the mannequin for whatever reason. It's a stiff but lightweight cotton and features zippers up the front and back (the back one is hidden and frankly I'm not sure why it's needed). My favorite is the giant cargo pockets with triple-snap closures on either side. The neck strap is a nice touch too. I'd been looking for a militaristic (stolen valor alert) dress for some time and finally found this one for $14.



Wrap tops/dresses are some of my favorites; very sexy but not overtly femme. This is a nice midweight stretch jersey cotton. The sleeves are loose and hang like an oversized t-shirt. They can be pulled off the shoulders and they fit layers underneath really nicely. Subtle ruching on the side gives a bit of shape without coming off as form-fitting.

This may not be as satisfying to look at as it was to lay out, but this is my closet*.

Feeling good about this.. It's funny, as the uniform experiment progresses, I am realizing I do not want to be wearing clothes with the intention of being photographed in them. That is not their primary function. It was nice to take one more step away from aesthetic towards "utility". I know I'm preaching to the choir, but it's such a misconception that utilitarian clothing is devoid of emotional resonance. In fact, I feel more connected to this clothing when I just wear it and don't think about it so much.

Wanted to document my current wardrobe. The following is a bit lengthy but here goes.




*+1 sweater. I'm sewing it currently.





Basic Guidelines: fitted shirt or long-sleeve top; lightweight sweater; cropped blazer or cropped puffer jacket; midi/a-line silhouette skirt/shorts (+1 pair trousers for wintry days), big canvas tote, BIG leather boots.

I’m not really a big fan of the new Belstaff England revamp back in 2012. But this piece caught my attention. It has some sort of velvet looking material. I don’t think I’ll use a seam ripper to de stitch the shoulder branded logo tag as I did with the Malenotti 2000s era Italy era belstaff
