so i posed the "wearing crop tops in winter- how? (also... men?)" question awhile back & now here are some interim, experimental results...

Image Image Image Image Image Image

the photos are blurry//mehh but the point was to show the silhouettes of various crop tops & how they look given different ways of standing or whatever // how they'd look in everyday situations -- i took these & then realized i'll probs be wearing one of them out + jacket ... so crop top plus outerwear is the next big experiment i guess...
also- i call wearing an underarmour undershirt the "team rocket james" look...
ultimately: i think it looks fine / not bad / wearable -- further research would be if the undershirt isn't black but an actual color (what an out-of-the-box idea)

This must have been around February? What with covid and having a pretty bad job I didn´t leave the house much and also let my hair and beard grow very long. After a while it became time for me to leave my hermitage behind but I didn´t want to totally abandon all that hair growth. I kind of gave up on the idea of my top hair being good long but I figured the beard might be good with a shaved head. Duly shaved we left the apartment for a visit to a museum and it felt good to wear clothes I like after mainly staying at home in a sweatshirt for many months.

The wide wool trousers with the long coat is a combo I like but I didn´t really factor in the new hair situation into this look ... it kind of changes everything? Oh well, no big deal, it´s not like I´m going to change outfit because I don´t like how it combines with my new hairdo...

But then we leave the apartment and ... we´re [redacted]. I totally forgot my girlfriend bought me a bicycle for my birthday a few days ago. She has a friend who restores vintage bicycles, it´s not the kind of thing I would buy myself and it´s pretty dangerous but you don´t look a gift horse in the mouth. The look is getting really out of hand now but it´s too late to turn back.

A few metres down the street and oh gosh, my wool trousers are getting caught in the chain, didn´t think of that. But it´s ok, I learnt how to tuck and fold wide pants for [redacted] from my good friend Patrick Grant. Hmm, I forgot that I was wearing orange socks though, I´d assumed they´d be well hidden beneath the folds of my pooled hem, things are really going haywire now.

My humiliation is complete when, upon arrival at the museum, a middle aged street photographer tell us we look like we´re from 1920s Paris and asks to photograph us. And so my most Pitti Uomo look ever was captured eternally. The next day I shaved my beard.
