My favourite category of clothing, really the only thing that matters.

Skirts, strides, shorts, sarongs and salopettes (just)

Talk about anything that covers the lower half of your body not including your feet in this thread.

Or argue about shorts, which seems to be the main thing.

Galaxy brain/enlightened meme

buying shorts everyone in the frat has
< buying shorts everyone in the frat has but decreasing the length by 2.5cm
< buying shorts based on colour theory you learned from the graphic designer guy in the frat
< buying shorts based on critical theory you came up with after reading 2% walter benjamin from the bookshelf of the insufferable guy who says he wouldn't join a frat but seems to exhibit all the elements of elitism someone who would join a frat would exhibit?
< commenting "nice quads" on every pic of a guy wearing shorts

It actually took me ages to find a store with a "legwear" section. Is the legwear section an endangered species?

Please post any "legwear" sections you find so that we can archive them for posterity.

the only measurement that matters for legwear is the leg opening/hem

scored some like-new gustin raws for 25 bucks recently, slim black denim w white line selvedge, button fly. one of the stupider names and more annoying business models, but I honestly love these pants already, been trying to find a good pair of black jeans for years now and these pretty much checked the boxes

jeans: usually uncomfortable cuts, denim is hot and feels gross in the summer, cold in the winter. symbol of american cultural imperialism. sometimes you can feel like a cool magazine ad. hard to ride a [redacted] in them. easily ripped/torn/abraded

propper bdu: ripstop blend is cool in the summer, warm in the winter. ankle ties guarantee proper leg opening for any given look. comes in an array of colors and camouflage patterns. button or zipper fly. cheap even when new. symbol of american literal imperialism. big cargo pockets. swishy sound for tactical assertion of spatial embodiment. [redacted] riding is simple and comfortable. very durable.

you'd think the "Bottoms" sections would start seeking alternative names, as Bottoms' other sense grows more and more dominant

my hidden character's bdus might be my ideal pant but unfortunately i've gotten to big for their waist to be comfortable. instead i'm embracing the joy of adjustable waistband shorts. also snopants. need to buy more snopants

the ideal shorts length is 1-2 inches. ideally with a shirt or sweater that's way longer. prove me wrong

(edit: this only applies to people with severe scoliosis that turns your... backside flat as a board when standing up in the direction you know as "straight")

i throw tons of money at different types of pants only to always rediscover that im not better than a pair of darkrinse levi's 501s. sure 501s look like ass at first but once you break them in theyre essentially perfect and you can completely stop thinking about pants, which for me is the end goal

i think that the era of pants is coming to a close. pants dont matter if theyre slim fit or straight fit

i think long inseams will come back as well (they probably have and im just too out of touch to notice). everything has been cropped for so long that the pendulum should start swinging the other way.

i have been a pants fiend for too much of my life to be able to let an "era of pants come to a close", which is probably a horrible curse.

otherwise, all shapes and fits and lengths are valid if maybe context-dependent, or something
