i've "accidentally" started to amass crop tops & I'm a guy so already society is going to be critical of how I style this..

right now I'm thinking of having a skinny undershirt or underarmour underneath
(i only recently realized this look was pioneered by the Pokemon Team Rocket member "James," from the cartoon)

every crop top i see seems to show midriff (which is always hairless btw),,
or if it is layered, it's a super-short crop top (or "bralette" according to H&M's most recent collection..) worn over something not as fitted

but as for the on-going research - i only found one example of a man without a smooth torso (i.e. had hair) wearing a crop top

I usually pair them with pants or high-waisted skirts and a jacket.

Cold is also relative; some people get cold in 78 degree weather, while others don't get cold until it's well below freezing. The context of the outfit is also important. Someone walking from a car to a building doesn't care how cold it is because they are only cold for a short period of time. It's often not worth dressing for the weather if you'll be indoors 99 percent of the time (not the same thing, but my mother will not wear a coat or gloves even in temperatures well below freezing if she's going shopping). It's pointless to drag bundled-up winter clothing into a warm building just because it's cold for the 30 seconds she's there.

I like wearing them over overalls



I also layer mine with jackets often, and I cut them just barely above the waist line so it's more subtle

feel like the point of crop tops is showing off some belly skin, which overalls ruins? the wide shirt pocket tee is a good look tho

counterpoint- i think it creates the illusion of extremely long legs and is kinda a cool silhouette

also, crops under overalls can be a cool opportunity for some cute rib action
