when i was in my early teens back in the mid-2000s, where i lived every cool kid used to go into town on a saturday in a polo shirt with their best jeans and some white velcro trainers. i remember these lacoste trainers being super popular and i think i had these cheapo fila ones.

i've been on a bit of a nostalgia binge recently (in all aspects of life) and i'm definitely keen on getting some velcro trainers back into my life.

so far i really like the look of the raf ones and the vans x marc jacobs ones, but i'm gonna keep digging. plus im on a cop freeze for now anyway.

I love my black Raf velcros. Don't wear them as much as I should.

Why do tennis shoes from the past look dope but tennis shoes from the present are awful. Is it because the game used to hold more of a place in the public mind so that they spent more money on catchy designs?

Or is it just nostalgia for an age I don't remember.

no one wants to bring back the older shitty designs, just the older good ones.

i would argue that there are plenty of cool sneakers being designed and released right now, though they may not be ones that fit with your particular sartorial taste.

Really only like the first one but it seems like a logical next step for this brand. I wrote them off semi-early so the amount of mileage they've gotten out of a single idea is already impressive to me and each new iteration is icing on the cake.

Anyone seen/know about these Shoes Like Pottery trainers? Seem interesting.

Founded in 1873 at Kurume, Fukuoka, Japan (the 6th year of the Meiji period). Produced in a “Kiln”, the same process as pottery. The shoe produced by this process has specialties such that the sole is soft and flexible, and increased durability. Above all the most attractive part of “shoes like pottery” is a highly crafted and beautiful texture which only skilled workers can create by hand. Made in Japan

Lebron 11 Anthracite

Image

The LeBron 11 features Hyperposite construction with ultra-lightweight Flywire cables—designed to move naturally with your foot and enhance support and lockdown when you need it. A full-length Lunarlon midsole sits above a Nike Zoom unit for maximum cushioning. This LeBron 11 features a solid black upper accented with a subtle burst of speckles, which make for a cool contrast against the Anthracite outsole. A multi-color Swoosh injects an eye-catching iridescent accent. -http://www.nike.com/us/en_us/launch/c/2014-03/lebron-11-anthracite

Drops March 15. These very beautiful.
