had these on my mind lately, back in the day these and the models before were the casual shoe of choice for me and the mates. couldn't be seen without them, first i got the "67" knock offs from george asda which got me bare stick from the guys in primary so i had to guilt trip my mum into getting me real ones. pretty much wore these all through my under 16 weekend football and secondary school pe in some form or the other. one day i'll think of a way to work them back in, one day.

would pick those velcro joints up on sale if they went somewhat gr, strike me as some "knock off" gucci joints and would look nice paired with some wool trews and a mac for that council estate rich look. reg ones don't have raf on the tongue so that's an instant no in my book.

got a pair of the RT AF1's today at 21 mercer.

Image

these really impress me, probably not a surprise because i love givenchy and i love af1's but these aren't a simple reskin or nikeID, they're basically rebuilt from the ground up. they are leather lined through the sole like a margom welt, and the removable insole is completely stacked, like 3x as thick as normal, so your foot stands much higher than a normal AF1. the result is that the thick sole is really exaggerated. I got the lows but i saw some guys with slim jeans resting on top of the mids and hi's and it looked really phenomenal if you like the look, very similar to how people wear geobaskets.

the dust bag is made of athletic polyester mesh which gave me a chuckle.

found this on styleforum, found them quite amusing.

Copy pasta from stockist site.
Niho Mano is an Hawaiian word meaning shark tooth. Ancient Hawaiians considered the shark tooth as a symbol of man's strengths and skills and used to represent them with a triangular mesh that nowadays is one of the most popular tattoo in the world.
NIHOMANO celebrates the art of shoemaking and the artisans who make them. Starting from a sheet of both vero cuoio and leather, NIHOMANO introduces a new level of handcrafted design that leverages the skills of some of the best Italian shoe-making artisans to produce unique pieces of art. All NIHOMANO shoes come in raw white leather/real leather and get "tattooed" in several ways aimed to dramatically change their look and mood without distorting their real nature. The process is rigorously hand-made so you won't ever find two identical shoes; nevertheless, whatever variant you get they all share the same white soul and a skilled design.

why? this thread is fine. people see sneakers they like, they post a pic of them. not every post needs long form writing pieces

I have those in tan. They design is great but I don't think that the quality alone justifies the price. It might be that the edges are unfinished, but the leather is sort of gravy and thin. It smooths out when you're actually wearing them. I feel like I have to be pretty careful with them because of that. I've only had the chance to wear them a few times though. Soles seem sturdy enough otherwise.
