mizuno did those infinity mocs a few years ago too

for some reason japan doesn't have the problem the west has where almost all outdoor brands are terrified of doing anything but pure athletic wear so as not to delegitimize themselves in the eyes of all the nerds who think lifestyle and performance gear are incompatible

so many dudes with brooks shoes who look down on people in nike because they're "not a real running brand"

@Northwest OC is always kinda lame, not surprised

Quite like these knit sock racers

Wild that the originals were the peak of running shoe tech at one point and someone won an iron man in them

They seem OK in an inoffensive sort of way to me, but I haven't worn Chucks since the 80s. Do you like Chucks and flyknits, but not flyknit chucks? Or do you like Chucks and think that flyknitting them ruins them?

i had breakfast with my dad and through the window I noticed a pair of pretty nice looking sauconys swung around a powerline. after breakfast I rooted through my car until I found something to throw at them.

I gave a few solid attempts but I couldn't make it work and figured I was making a scene. the dream of nice free sneakers remains dead another day.

camhicks made those look gr8

As I see more Hoka Ones, tech runners, etc. I still feel there are plenty of companies in this vein that get little shine.

Salomon's pedigree is pretty nerdy, plus this particular shoe uses the tension lacing system I remember from compressing the inner bootie of snowboard boots. Packs into a pocket in the tongue.

in a similar vein, i know TNF is fairly well respected and worn around fashion circles but they've also got some really good techy shoes that might fly a little under the radar.

Image

these are the Litewave Fastpack, I have a pair and they've become a dark horse favorite of my shoes. great shape, very comfortable, and the reflective details (small patches on the inner toe and heel) are neat and safe!

I posted this in SUTO just now but here's a fit with them to give a better idea of the shape:

Image

I love tech runners, they're so utilitarian and purposeful in a way that makes my heart glow.

@alexander delarge Feels like walking on a luxury mattress 24/7 but still wouldn't be as comfortable as Yeezys in my opinion.

nom de guerre x adi from 2009

where did this kind of adidas sneaker go? i'll take this kind of thing over hundreds of boost models that all look vaguely like yeezy 350s any day. the x detailing is even better than the new tubular x models

saw a seriously surprising amount of people wearing sock darts today, with a crazy amount of diversity in the people – 12-year-olds, fashion guys, a 40-year-old woman, a delivery guy, etc.

it's simultaneously really noteworthy and strangely heartwarming to a guy like me whose brain has been ruined by staring at nikes online for too long
