Basically longer fibers will reduce pilling, smaller diameter fibers will be more comfy (aka 15 micron merino will be softer and less itchy than 22). There are lots of processes to separate out higher quality fibers vs lower quality ones, and these will get sold to different manufacturers based on their use case (not all textiles are used for apparel). There are only so many of these higher quality fibers, and some of these processes take longer than others (combing, ringspinning, etc) so they cost more money.

There are chemical processes to make the fibers straighter and more pliable too but I don't know much about them. Someone from everlane posted on styleforum a while ago about their process of making their cashmere sweaters.

How is Zara's sizing? Thinking of getting a jacket and I've heard that they size pretty slim. I'm a Small in most stuff, although a bit short on me after a wash.

Is there something similar for under 200€?

And what about this?

Really like both of these pieces off the xibalba x Ones Stroke collab, but there is no way that I could get the money before they are all gone. And they aren't cheap.

I've been done it a bunch cuz it's easy in van and I've only ever paid duties (had $750 of stuff) once and it was still way way cheaper than shipping direct to Canada or buying locally.

For qlo though just get someone here to go buy stuff for you and ship it as a gift

Innit lots of places won't ship to Canada (nike.com , various Amazon retailers, outdoor gear suppliers, etc) or will have egregious duty +shipping charged right at checkout (eBay sneaker stores do this a lot)

I don't do this for actual fashun stuff most of the time.

How to size on Norse Projects Aros heavy chino? I have a 30" waist and the tag size 28 looks to fit the bill. 15.5" across waist.

how's the fit on Champion hoodies? people seem to like them but some of the product shots make them look overly baggy/blousy

What's the best way for searching for a relatively cheap (400$???) ToJ? Been wanting an mdr for so long and I could swing 400. Do I just go on sf/sufu classifieds/grailed/bay and hope for the best and be patient?

Anyone got experience with Charles Tywhitt? How's the fit of the extra slim? Are the twills soft? Worth it?

Is that the brand that seems to be perpetually running a sale of x shirts for $100 and tells you how much money you'd be "saving"? Why not just get +J stuff around the same pricepoint?

depends on what he'd want it for. My dad likes CT and it's perfectly fine despite the annoying perpetual sale model. Mid range shirts are mid range shirts.

Also I don't have much experience with +J but I"m assuming it have S/M/L sizing which means you don't get to select a non standard collar size and sleeve length as you would with Charles Tyrwhitt.

thinking about putting a vibram ripple sole on a pair of cheap black derbies

1) where exactly do i go online to buy vibram soles
2) theoretically would it look better on RW postmans or 1461 (mono) docs? i've heard that docs age better but i prefer the shape of postmans

What's the deal with that? I'm thinking of getting my Docs resoled with Vibram once the soles wear out, but my minimal research says I can't.

You won't be able to get it goodyear-welt rewelted. They'll resole like a cemented shoe, by slicing stuff off and sewing/gluing it back on.

I'm looking for new skate shoes, and I don't love many of vans offerings except for the Supreme Native American collection which is no longer available. Does anyone have suggestions?

Using From Japan, what would be an acceptable amount to mark a package down to from 15,750 JPY ($145) to avoid customs? 8200 JPY ($75)? And I should probably mark it as a gift, right?

I've only bought directly from Rak before, haven't had to worry about that.

The markdown itself would have no effect as there is no customs threshold for textiles

For it to work, the package needs to be clearly marked "Unsolicited Gift", with the value of the item (less than $100 or you'll pay duty for the whole lot), recipients name, and nature and value of items inside (ie shirt, $75).

I sent someone on here a jacket in this way and as far as I know it got through fine.
