Trasparenti you should set up a service where someone sends you $X and you send them the coolest thing you find second hand within their budget

revolving my entire wardrobe around one pair of blue jeans makes fashion seem like cheating tbh

why are trouser-style pockets on denim so rare. they're so much more natural/less awkward than "jean pockets"

do you mean welt pockets vs patch pockets or do you mean the cut of the hip pockets? that top-entry hip pocket cut makes more sense to *actually* work in imho, so tradition wins over there. (done some light construction work before; would hate to do in trouser-style pocket layouts)
same banana applies to patch rear pockets + easier to repair than the involved set up that is a welt pocket opening + bags. or so i would think.

if it really bothers you just get some sassafras fall leaf sprayers in denim; pocket layout of those is chino. you have the option of with/without the super dope wraparound pockets. otherwise i know acne ss15 has some wider leg denims with trouser pocket layout. junya cdg does some similiar things. fit tho... well. that depends >_>

I think he was the same guy I talked to who worked at Simons and was wearing CCP and some artisan derbies. He seemed cool.

Update: So I found the guy in the fashion section of my University paper...

i went to the yeezy season 3 showing today at a movie theatre and despite whatever feelings we have about kanye/his yeezy line, i surprisingly made a few friends (like actual people who have communicated with me post-event) simply because they were joking around about shoes and having actual conversations about fashion in real life, which has never happened to me before.

kanye west, bringing people together

@une_impasse nice!! I love when that happens.

Earlier this week Minkhoi, two other friends and me were in line for the Tame Impala show when Minkhoi turned around to the dude behind us and their conversation was something like "nice wtaps x vans" "thank you, nice Norse Projects hat"

He stayed with us for the concert and after and we talked about fashion and indie music it was so nice!

I really really hate when people on grailed bid like $55 on a $63 item. It's way more annoying than actual lowballing.

edit: The item is already heavily discounted, it's like finding something at 70% off and asking for another 5% coupon. I understand the bidders are trying to save money, but I find it extremely annoying to have to haggle over a few bucks on something already so cheap.

There's probably a whole raft of learnable skills that I'm missing, but it's tough for me to figure out whether I'd want to wear something based on a picture of a pouty person striding purposefully forward.

What if shows had models mingle around for half an hour and shoot the breeze at a generously-stocked open bar, while reporters take 12-second Vines? It'd be tough to get the models to kick back a few while on the job, though…

It's called a presentation and they tend to be used for smaller/less 'high fashion' brands. Lots of people post short instagram videos of models at presentations. I have been ordered to stop taking drinks from the open bar before whilst working a presentation so I don't think it would be difficult.

You can go to a store to try on and see clothes though? They often change fabric/fit a bit between the show and going to retail anyway to make the item cheaper/more sellable.

yo I'm screen printing some shirts for fun on the side and if you like the designs i'd love for you guys to buy them! we are nearly out of stock for the first shirt since most of my friends snatched them up. this is collaborative process between my friend and me, but we have been urging friends to hop in on the efforts. if you have a design thought or an idea, let me know, and i'd love to try to make it and collaborate. brand is called Cellars.

Cellars

coming soon...

Does anyone know of any "fashun" examples of the charmingly dorky Legionnaire's cap?

I used to wear one like this in primary school.

Cellars spawned after a friend (who is named Brian) and I saw Virgil Abloh speak in Madison, Wisconsin. In the talk he talked brought up the concept of a "chill rebellion". He described this as acting out of your own volition on passions that don't neatly fall into your career path. In Virgil's case, it was starting Pyrex while he was working on engineering/architecture. Instead of us rebelling in a destructive way, Cellars has become a way for us to rebel in a proactive, "chill" way.

Neither Brian or I will likely end up near the fashion industry, as both of us have chosen majors/career paths that will lead toward being a part of the classic 9-5 lifestyle. The Cellars name is symbolic as it is our "chill rebellion" and a way for us to exert any creativity that we have. We want Cellars to kind of influence other people in a way similar to us, hence why we want to collaborate with anyone who wants to create! We want everyone to have their own "Cellar" - a chill rebellion.

Hopefully that makes sense and isn't too rambly.

:sweg:

edit: Ram - I'll get measurements up soon.
