This is a very controversial opinion but has adidas released as many unique shoes as nike?

released? no. but the adidas archives are full of gr8 wonky models
Spoiler:
adidas eqt bball (lovely shoe, always liked. these particular colors are an old undefeated collab, but they did rerelease these in at least three colors somewhat recently?)
Image
adidas hikelander (newer thing, kind of regret passing on sometimes)
Image
Image
based on the eqt badlander: (which i have a soft spot for)
Image
and let's not forget the recent seeulaters and such, be it originals or the white mountaineering collabs. there's tons others i forget about rn
lots of old basketball sneakers with very adidas design language (occupy a v different space from nike imo).
as always, you're bound to find more in the sufu old/weird sneakers thread.

A perspective I liked from a Jerry Lorenzo interview

You have the healthy distrust of an outsider. Do you think that gives you an edge?

100 percent. It wasn't until I realized that I needed to be outside of fashion to get into it. There was a time in the beginning when I started the brand that I was over-consumed with everything that was happening—every idea, every runway show—just over-consumed with what was happening within it. I realized that and was like, you know what, let me take a step outside of fashion. Let me dig into the things that I know build who I am—the spiritual things and my family—then let me give to it. So yes, I feel like my outsider's perspective is what's helping me take American culture and mix it with this modernized proposition of what I'm trying to say fashion is. Through that I want to help free up this kid that I think I once was.

lately Grailed has become my source of reading material, not sure why :ugeek:

grailed/the fashion reseller market sucks in a lot of ways but props to the whole system for promoting sustainability

i read somewhere that clothing is the second-largest contributor to waste products or something like that? so anything that makes buying clothes used cool is a blessing

kind of a cool example of how sustainability can organically stem from good design: if people think an article of clothing is cool enough they'll keep passing it around to others and wearing it until it's in absolute tatters – and the cooler a piece of clothing is the longer it stays in circulation, so it's pretty cool to see '80s cdg and '90s lang still kicking in the aftermarket

Need some advice - I bought a ring on grailed from a person in poland and the ring left Poland 13 days ago according to the Polish tracking. The person also provided proof of shipping in the form of a receipt to my address. I have no doubt in my mind that this person shipped the item. However, I still have no received the item and there seems to be no way to track the item in the U.S.. I know that intl. shipping can be slow, but this seems exorbitant. Maybe I'm just being paranoid about not getting the ring and being out of the window to open a paypal dispute. But I also really have nothing to dispute? Lol idk i just don't want to lose my money for nothing

e: @jon - entering the tracking into usps just says that it doesn't exist. i reckon it is most likely stuck in customs and i am just paranoid

bummer. in the past, I've had USPS utilize the international tracking to say it hit customs. I would try it again later in the week but yeah, gotta stay patient.

I think it’s important especially today in the media ecosystem where we are constantly over-informed and there’s a certain pressure to say to people that if you want to be cool, it has to be that way, if you’re not like this other trend you’re off. I think this is a disaster, and I think this doesn’t work anymore. It’s important to resist trends and remember who you are. I’m looking for dignity. We’re trying to provide clothes that can help you feel dignified or stable. I think in fashion there’s this dimension too, it’s of course not only about the superficial image you want to project to others, it’s also about how these clothes make you feel. When you wear good clothes you feel a bit stronger.

i went to a vintage style shop yesterday in chicago bcause me gf wanted to go in and i was greeted by racks of old issey, helmut lang, dior, ysl, ann d, etc etc. real 90's and older shit and it was so fuckin cool it was so sick. it was all womens which was cool since i don't get to appreciate womenswear that much.

ryan - it was on milwaukee street a couple blocks down and across the street from st alfred. forget the real name but it was like, vintage style shop.

I think I only buy pants because I'm subconsciously trying to create a collection of every permutation of pant fit possible.

wide, relaxed, slim, skinny
x
straight, tapered
x
full-length, ankle-length, cropped

= 24 pairs to complete the full set

I got super stoned with friends and watched Oddsac then end of evangelion back to back but they still wanted more trippy shit to watch and I didn't know what else to put on so I played a cdg runway show. It was just a constant alternate between people going wtf and absolutely losing their shit laughing.
