cool! England banned the import of cotton chintzes from india in the early 18th century so this must have been an attempt for british manufactures to meet the demand for washable cotton. IIRC they weren't really able to print multiple colors. usually red or indigo. textiles are very interesting.

these are exclusives for ISETAN the stage, as far as i can tell, which means they're unavailable online. still got fingers crossed they'll make their way out somehow (and by 'somehow' i mean not the hypebeast store where they'll be marked up 2x)

was reading through the uc thread on sufu and saw this i'm sure some of you will find it interesting as well:

kind of obscure but

did anyone else know that the undercover jun takahashi X patti smith (neo boy) was not just a onetime collab for SS09 but rather an ongoing relationship between the two that began before 2004?

The actual neoboy poem of which SS09 mens collection was created upon was actually recorded for and recited during the 2004 "but beautiful" show. the original version of the poem is ancient though from like the late 70s

supposedly patti came across some of jun's work through some japanese photographer who had worked with both jun and patti and came to appreciate his aesthetic

kinda cool. one of the true OG's of punk was actually influencing the development of undercover across oceans and continents.

she actually was probably into UC before like at least 90% of sufuers and maybe even before me lol

alternately, just watch the video: https://www.facebook.com/video.php?v=75 ... =2&theater

a lot of motifs we've seen from jun in earlier collections and other lines.

Yeah, it mostly seems like another look at designs from the past 4 years or so, which isn't necessarily bad, but it's not exactly exciting. Still cool stuff mixed in there though, I'll probably grab that hoodie if I can. Also the lighting in these last two collections have been phenomenal.

I'm also glad twenty year old David Bowie could make an appearance in this lookbook.

Is the David Bowie Heroes pose a reference to something greater? Feel like I always see things riffing on it?

Thought this was kind of cute/cool/etc.

Author Haruki Murakami opened a temporary website, titled Murakami-san no Tokoro (Mr. Murakami’s Place) at which he took questions from fans for two weeks and now is providing answers.
In response to a fan question by Mr. Motchii, "Do you wear 'Undercover'?" Mr. Murakami responds,
"Jun Takahashi is also a very enthusiastic marathon runner which may be part of it, but I often run in the products he designs, running wear by 'GYAKUSOU' (manufactured by Nike). I don't mean to advertise, but having the runner design the clothes makes them extremely easy to wear. There's also many pockets which makes it easy to hold things like an iPod or keys."
We are very honored to hear Mr. Murakami say such kind words. We would also like to thank Mr. Motchii for his question!

Someone help me out with the sizing of Undercover.. Please do explain how different sizes are marked. Is a size 2 in Undercover equivalent to a small ? I have also heard some people saying size 3 is more of a small...
