My absolute favorite metal band is Panopticon, which is the one-man act black metal / bluegrass project of Austin Lunn. He is my favorite metal guitarist, and metal drummer, and "harsh vocalist," and probably bluegrass artist as long as we're not counting John Fahey. If reading "black metal" makes you fearful, he's so left that he did a concept album about the historical struggle of Appalachian miners. I think he's precious and gorgeous, making precious/gorgeous things.

I get happy when I remember him
