i think for all the toxic behaviours that were there, sufu still lives in my memory as one of the best communities of an era of the internet now gone. so much stuff discovered, finding people that likes the same stuff that you do etc. styleforum was kinda weird with all those jeans afficionados

spent a lot of time on the wc3sear.ch forum which was a map modding community for warcraft 3. i built the terrain for AOS maps (what are now called MOBAs) and learned to write in JASS (blizzard's scripting language). the community was great and this incredibly niche hobby was huge for me as a creative outlet. i just checked back and the site is still active under the name "hiveworkshop," which is dope.


the only fashion forum i browsed was sufu which led me down the dark pathway of buying expensive japanese clothes that didnt fit me. went to haven A LOT, spent a ton of money, and dressed real bad for a few years.
