Missed Connections

Postby RycePooding » Tue Mar 10, 2015 4:10 pm

To the man who recognized me from the internet:

I don't know your name and I don't know your username. Your maroon pants worked very nicely with your vans (you kept asking me if it worked.)

You do not need to buy expensive boots.

You were very drunk, and thought the 'Poo' in Pooding was very funny.

Why were you so embarrassed and won't tell me who you are? I want to be your friend. You are way smaller then me, but if you weren't I would give you some shirts. Maybe our feet are the same size. I'm a 9.5. I have some Air Force 1's (unworn) that you can have. You were so enamoured with mine. (Wabi Sabi you kept saying).

Pls respond.

Love,

Tucker (I was drinking a Cigar City Pale Ale)

wow it is so fucking weird you made this post

i'm hung up on a missed connection and i've just been dwelling on it all day

i was at a bar on friday and i bumped into this german guy from dusseldorf and we chatted for a little bit. after a while i went back to my friends but for some weird reason i seriously can't stop thinking about it. i feel like it's eating me up from the inside. can't remember his name, either.

anyway that's not nearly as funny as yours, sorry to be a downer

What's eating you up? Do we need to go to dusseldorf? I will be your partner in missed connections. Also adventures of Kavalier and clay is the best book I've read in ages.

@RycePooding lol just stupid stuff you over-romanticize in your head. let's go to dusseldorf anyway thought.

I'm glad you liked the book! I fucking love that book. I should reread it. I remember reading it in high school and it is a book that just washes over you like a magical, warm blanket lol. everything chabon writes is mystical in that way.

To the man I met at a the bar last night,

We ran into each other around 1 and began to talk, I was drinking away my sorrows from the Wild loss while my friends played pool, you comforted me for a moment despite being a Blackhawks fan. We hugged it out, I was a little drunk, what can I say. I remember you were wearing a nice shirt and the girl you were with was very cute. I just couldn't shake the feeling after you left that we could've been such good friends, if only...

Oh, wait. False alarm, guys! It was totally just @RycePooding I ran into, we're all good here. Luv u tucker.

As I was in a near comatosed state stacking the never ending shelves of my master john sainsburys, still angry from last nights defeat mumbling about how the Tories are awful a figure appeared. I couldn't believe it. Tall and slender with fair skin, a shirt which elongated your torso to new heights and complimented by your space black slim jeans. I thought what a trendy man he is, then it hit me. I couldn't breath. Gasping for air and words. Unable to string the sentence together and force it through my mouth.

"Are...a....are those...ja...ja...geobaskets?"

But instead I stood there in silence, following you like a second shadow.

If you were in blackpole sainsburys today, hello.
