just got a super cool package from @yubbermax!

Spoiler:
some sort of cool newspaper or something surrounds the entire thing

Image

some crazy delicious looking candy which is now refrigerating as per instructions !! rips "innovation in licorice", haribo twin cherries, and kazoozles "crazy delickoricious chewy candy", none of which I've ever has before!

Image

and two super weird bracelets, the first one of which is used a 3d-printer filament apparently?! the second, weirder, one is what happens if you forget to dry the material; all the little mini-moon-crater type things are where the water was when it dried. SUPER COOL!

thank you so much!!

another belated post - this came in weeks ago! ._.

This is a two-parter - first off, we've got Darn Tough socks (made in vermont), vermont maple sugar candy, vermont-made salted caramels, and a very thoughtful holiday reading gift that I had mentioned looking into in the william gibson thread!!! as well as a sweet note
Image
And this is the bit that put the care-share waaay off the charts!!!! a (presumably also made-in-vermont) raf simons/care-tags woodcut! I have this framed in my room (smiling) seriously can't look at it without smiling

Thanks so much, @smiles :woop:

finally opened mine up since === received his, so big thank you to @Blastoise for an amazing package!
____________________________________________________________

it was wrapped in MANY layers of christmas paper, and inside was:

ice choir t-shirt (gave them a listen, real good).
note with little drawings (yes let's make a shoegaze band)
"adorable" CD (amazing band, thanks for introducing me! the britpop/subtle shoegaze sound is spot on).
wabi-sabi book.
cult records sticker.
ricoh film camera (!!) with 2 empty expired film rolls (this is amazing, will use for some random shots).
nut rolls. (which were delicious)
danelectro "black licorice" guitar pedal.
____________________________________________________________

the pedal really blew me away, thank you for adding to my collection!
it really is a weird synth/fuzz/white noise maker pedal and i'm definitely going to start utilizing it.
possible recording soon!

Hey I'm a bit late in posting this (although it did arrive a bit late - I was scared it was lost in the ether of the postal network) - so sorry and thank you to @silvaeri!

Weeeeeeeee!

Image

The contents of silvaeri's care-share to me included:

  • Peppermint Candy Canes
  • Peace Coffee Beans (fair trade and other cool stuff! I still have to tak)
  • Mike and Ike Candy Things (I ate all of these already!)
  • Some stickers (for sticking)
  • Haribo Gold Gummi Bears
  • Notebooks from Shinola Detroit (cool guy company!)
  • Mossimo Socks (they are comfy as hell and seem quite durable!)
  • Enter The Wu-Tang (36 Chambers) on CD! (This is like my favourite album ever unfortunately I do not have a CD Player but I am excited to own a car in the next couple years so I'm eagerly awaiting then to open it and blast it!)

And of course a cute handwritten note.

Thanks silvaeri!

I picked up my care package today (terribly sorry for picking it up so late, I was out of town when it arrived), and I'm honestly blown away by the thoughtfulness and care put into this by @iliam. Thank you soooooooo much, this really cheered me up.

Video
[vimeo]http://www.vimeo.com/116601801[/vimeo]
As with the other videos, the password is the first name of the man at the top left of the page.
did i say tapestry at the end? i meant banner. my head isn't right. :(

Packaging (WONDERFUL)
Spoiler:
The main box was covered in paper and tied up in twine, which was fun to untie.
Image
There were hand painted eyes underneath the paper/twine, which looked cool and had a wonderful message on them.
Image
An arrow on the side of the box helped me to properly orient the box before opening it.
Image
Everything in the package was wrapped in these lovely pages from a book about different breeds of dogs, with a dog sticker on each piece. This made me very happy/giddy, and if the package had consisted of these pages, I would have been very pleased. I LOVE DOGS :woop:

I wasnt able to do an unboxing vid so I just made a (shitty) gif of @chilljin's care share package. Got it a couple of weeks back but I've been incredibly busy as of late so I'm only posting this now, sorry!

Spoiler:
Image

Contents of the package according to the note that came with it:

- Dairy Milk x 3 (peng)
- Jaffa Cakes (super peng)
- Jammy Dodgers (dece)
- Lindt Chocolates
- a copy of Jane Eyre (a play he was in)
- Fiddler on the Roof (great musical)
- Liverpool book
- Doggy bow tie

...plus a couple of coins amounting to 25p if I remember correctly and a voice file on Soundcloud.

I've only eaten the Jaffa Cakes and the Lindt chocolates so far and I have to agree with chilljin that Jaffa Cakes are super peng, as he would say, and now I have to hunt them down once I'm done with the box. That can be a problem because I dont think I've ever seen them here anywhere. Jane Eyre I've read some years ago and with a new copy on hand it might be time for a re-read. I've only rifled through the Liverpool book but it seems really interesting—admittedly I dont know much about the city. Lastly, the bow tie fits my dog! Will try to post a photo once I manage to wrestle him into wearing it.

A big, big thanks to chilljin for putting together such a great package despite some problems with postage!

@harmsalmon-
I was taken aback by the thoughtfulness and effort you put into my care package. Since arrival in Boston I've torn though Fashion talks and most of the ginger candy (for those of you who are not harmsalmon, there was much more candy in the pic initially). Coming back to school to find such an awesome share made my week. The 3-tier system was a nice touch (smiling)

The breakdown:
Image
LAPPGET the goat, oolong + jasmine tea, ginger candy, candy canes, Cement 3s keychain, m gonzales & seinfeld stickets, hand-drawn ICHTHIS tag stickers, kanye's head sticker, astronaut picture, finger rock them sock them robots

Image
books: fashion talks, this is a book
Image Image
custom uniqlo x caretags x harmsalmon turtleneck

Image Image Image
gummies, green tea pocky, venus socks

Image
and vinyl of songs of the humpback wale and saturday night fever (my player is back in NY but I'm sure I can find someone with one)

So I went to the Leica store in soho for a second time and the visit was as enjoyable as the first. Really recommend it if you are in the area and like looking at pictures (or dropping $$$ on cameras I guess).

Anyway (because there's no way I'm buying one of their cameras anytime soon) I picked up the first issue of the LFI S-magazine, which is gorgeous:
Image

Lots of full-page or spread portraits. Here are some from Pandalis shoot (sorry about the photos, i didn't want to crack the spine too much). They seriously don't do the magazine justice.
Image
Image
Image
Image
Image
Image

for smaller screens, here's the album link.

There are a bunch of removable prints at the back, each from a different photographer's recent ad campaign. They're pretty cool. I thought it'd be fun to send them out, so if anyone is interested in receiving one, let me know and I'll write you a letter and everything!

(Sorry, wasn't sure where this post should go...but ultimately I want to share the prints so I thought i'd put it here.)

Interest check here: Would anyone care to pick up a pair of New Balance 710s from the Herschel collab? They're a size 10.5, seen here:

Image

Not my pic obviously, but can get some this weekend if desired. In terms of actual wear I'd say they're about an 8/10, only meaningful signs are one frayed shoelace and some small water stains on the canvas.

If you're interested lemme know, only asking for shipping covered and they're yours.

I'm extremely late but I've finally arrived at my care share from @starfox64!

Image
Image
Image
Image

the contents:

  • 3 X Packs of 'candy' (1 X Haribo Peaches, 1 X Haribo Fizzy Cola, 1 X Hi-Chews)
  • 2 X Lotte Koala's March
  • 2 X T-shirts (1 X Final Home, 1 X I (love) NY)
  • 2 X Chocolate bars (1 X Dars Milk Choclate, 1 X Meiji BLACK)
  • 1 X Pepero 'Nude' (Korea's No.1 Brand!)
  • 2 X Novels (1 X White Noise by Don DeLillo, 1 X The Question of Bruno by Aleksandar Hemon)
  • 1 X Lego Nelson Muntz w/ club

i'm proudly wearing both t-shirts at once and making my way through the candy, shoving fistfuls of it into my face on public transport. i grin back at the jealous faces of my fellow commuters with chunks of gummy cola wedged between my teeth. the haribo peaches are my favourite.
and nope I haven't read either book before so thank you and you're right, the final home t-shirt is neat.

you're the best. and very nice. and extremely generous. thank you!
