karaoke for me always seems to be me and 20 coworkers renting a room meant for 10 so while you may have the mic, the whole room is singing
thus my choice is mr brightside, which is apparently HUGE in the UK, like, still, in the year of our lord 2021

I think it's much better to do a song everyone knows to reduce embarassment. I like that sanrio character that does death metal karaoke though.
I was thinking when I do karaoke again I'll do throw down the sword by wishbone ash

the only karaoke I've ever done was "All of the Lights with a lot of people yelling,"
but I would also like to broach the adjacent question [what's the most improbable, hysterical vocal performance you can do on a moment's notice], for which my answer is of course "Alright by Kendrick Lamar with all the n words replaced with buddy"

my go to shower song in high school was behind these hazel eyes by our queen kelly
