Does anyone know of a youtube channel I can use to watch every runway show (mens and womens)? Male Model Corp 3 is pretty good but they don't upload vids of every collection

just wanted to thank our new friend @qalandar for his hard work. however it would be nice if you could rehost the images as you run the risk of losing all of them if the original uploader decides to delete them. you can do that easily on imgur for example. thank you!

Is wearing all navy blue the new wearing all black?

WRT what designers are actually wearing.

I have to say I was a bit weirded out by the kanyexaddias collection only having the women half dressed while all the dudes were fully clothed.

I think in a time where a lot of designers are aiming for a andro approach to dressing the sexes kanyes clear separation of the sexes comes off a bit shocking. Unlike nasir mazhar or any of that crowd he's not over sexualising both genders but making the clear division, I think his saving grace however is the fact that his males weren't dressed in traditional "masculine cuts" making me more inclined to think he's celebrating the female form x lack of female specific pieces. That said it would have been cool if he dressed them exactly the same and had genderless pieces.

Why are fashion shows always about "references"

Re: GD

by BIGBEE
I think references are a pretty good way to analyze a show they are easy to digest.
Maybe it has something to do with that weird relationship fashion has with art. (Fashion imitates art?!)

But references seem important to analyzing a lot of art forms.
Just my two thoughts I'd like to hear from someone more qualified lol

I think that references are a cool way to alienate large swathes of people who lack the specific background required whilst simultaneously meaning that the people who do understand the references don't have to do any actual work.

“I think we ought to wear only the kind of clothes that make relevant references to us. If the clothes we're wearing don't wake us up with a great reference, what are we wearing them for? So that it will make us happy, as we wear? Good Lord, we would be happy precisely if we had no clothes, and the kind of clothes that make us happy are the kind we could make ourselves if we had to. But we need clothes that make great references, that reference deep things, like the death of someone better dressed than ourselves, like being banished into forests far from LCM, like a suicide. An item of clothing must be the reference for the frozen sea of references within us. That is my belief.” - Franz Kafka

i said in my rep comment to heck a whale
there isn't a super easy way but i've been selecting all the images with "generate image links"

if anyone was wondering

upload your images to imgur
Image

choose "generate image links" and select your images (image order depends on the order you select the images in, I think)
Image

press "done" and change the settings (edit: images automatically resize so you don't have to make them large thumbnails anymore)

if there is an easier way please please let me know!!

These were a few pieces at the Indianapolis Art Museum. I'm sure you can guess most of the designers. I was surprised at how many names I could recognize.

a lot of these are viv and there is a few Junya, Yoji, Rei, and Moschino in there as well. Lot of CdG pieces on one of the walls. I forget the rest of the designers.

not sure if i've been biased by all these well-lit waywt posts i see but whenever i see fashion in a museum the lighting is always piss poor (especially compared to what the lighting would be like in any other visual art exhibit) and im fed up with it!!
