What did you do this weekend?

Today was a good day, all things considered:
  • woke up early, did some job stuff (sad)
  • got a bagel and coffee and ran some errands
  • played some video games online with my friend who lives in Seattle
  • got a haircut
  • went into the city and got a lego set that i've been after, while also walking into a fire hydrant and ripping my jeans (sad)
  • stocked up on groceries right before TJ's closed
  • did my taxes (sad)

  • Friday night, I quit work early and got a haircut.
  • Saturday AM, got up at 5:45AM and met up with my friend to find some Sandhill Cranes (got em!!)
  • had a nice walk around town when I got back and got an okay latte from the local coffee shop.
  • Took an online drawing class over zoom, was nice to draw again. I miss taking art classes.
  • Ordered vietnamese food for dinner and I got bun bo hue for the first time. WOW, it was great.
  • Slept in on Sunday AM and made some hashbrowns and eggs for breakfast. Went out birding late morning and didn't see much but it was incredible beautiful weather (60F and sunny).
  • Watched some tv and got a short lazy sunday nap in the afternoon.
  • Made a sausage and bean soup for dinner (threw in the leftover broth from my Bun Bo Hue and it was excellent)
  • Went out for some sunset birding to chase a freakin rare Short-Eared Owl. Ran into some birding friends out there and we all got to see it. (smiling)

I was eating a vegan burger on the heath and a black lab that had run away from its owner lunged and grabbed the burger straight from my hands.

Had brisket and eggs for breakfast. Might putter around outside today might not but in any case I am very happy with a break from my routine of ascetic breakfasting

I went to the beach but it was full, so we pulled into a fish camp on the side of the road that was advertising kayaks for rent. I ended up kayaking around the estuaries and rivers around the gulf of Mexico. As soon as I got in the water I met a dolphin and her calf fishing in the shallows. And I went with my parents so I didn't even have to drive, how's that for a lazy sunday.
