They had white label in shinsegae last month. Didn't think it was super special really. Makes me wonder if goldwin owns the Korean rights too because this is a departure from international TNF's normal product line in a lot of ways.

Cosmic Wonder is a "multi-media art project".They've been around since 2007. Light Source is the main clothing line, but there is also The solar garden (eco lifestyle), Free Press (publishing), the centre for cosmic wonder (gallery space), Restaurant (restaurant)

COSMIC WONDER Light Source, launched in 2007, is our fashion project.
CWLS studies various aspects of light and weaves these ideas into the clothing.
Wearing light, one creates an environmental effect, shifting the balance of everyday occurrences.
Sharing the light's warmth, the brightness of life opens up to the universe.

Like kapital and visvim they're largely concerned with creating a kitsch hippy universe but CW approaches it more like a futuristic 70s commune, they're advertising a brave new world where everyone loves each other and does communal yoga each morning and believes in the healing power of crystals. The products are clean and reductive, not used and distressed. it's optimistic, utopic clothing. Made in Magic Village. i see some cdg influence in the cut of the jackets and their flat and circular garments; the way garment, body and space interact

Who is the Lanvin man and woman?

the lanvin dude might as well be the Philip lip dude or the bottega guy. it's the same with all these fashion brands who hire a bunch of talented freelancers to build a bunch of shit they can put on the runway, and they all leave the day of the presentation. lanvin has a ton of history but the modern lanvin man is just some guy with a ton of cash and good taste, they have tried to rebrand the menswear a dozen times in the last decade so any brand identity is pretty much gone.

so we're browsing this shop and i find this dude from ukraine who makes sportswear and i'm automatically interested from that alone.

Grey, as a snow, Black as a coal dust of Donbass, Red as a blood, we don't want to spill. Puppet silhouettes, as a reminder that we all are driven with passions. Unisex and masculinity, as a symbol of protest. Alpaka wool parka, transformer-coats, bulletproof vests on a horsehair canvas, sweatshirt dresses with sportive details. Collection AW’14/15 first introduced during Pitti Uomo 85 in Florence, within the special project - The Latest Fashion Buzz, for the talents selected by GQ Italia and Pitti Fondazione. Afterwards, the collection was shown within the official program of Berlin Fashion Week, during the presentation in the Wye Gallery, in Krautzberg

I'm sure they're more common knowledge, but what/who is Nanamica and TNF Purple Label?

nanamica is this guy: http://hypebeast.com/2013/4/nanamica-ma ... r-menswear

tnfpl is tnf japan (separate entity from tnf everywhere else and owned by goldwin japan, tnf mainline is not happy about this) licensing the brand name/logo to nanamica who does all the design/manufacturing.

I think the difference in how TNF is received in Korea is pretty funny, I'm from Canada so I have a goose down TNF parka that is not my style at all, but on -40 days I don't care too much about how I look..I wore it once in KR and my girlfriend made fun of me saying I looked like a middle schooler. Even the white label stuff I don't think most ''fashion conscious'' Koreans would wear because of the stigma attached to the brand, but I could be wrong.

A bit of topic, but if you guys are in Seoul I spotted a pretty nice Junya x TNF shell on sale at the Ilmo Outlet in Garosugil in M that I didn't pull the trigger on..fairly nice though.

I've seen him mentioned around here fairly often recently but I don't know much about him, anyone care to fill me in on J.W. Anderson? General aesthetic, comparable brands, just curious since a couple of you seem to really like him.

probably my favourite brand. I'll probably buy a piece or 2 each year no matter what, always can find something worth having. mainline seems expensive but honestly the finishing and detailing just blow away any of the brands that cost 60% of what it does that people group it with. some stuff is MiJ and some things are made in china but you cant tell the difference.

http://www.pittimmagine.com/en/corporat ... 12/Wm.html

http://en.fashion-headline.com/article/ ... 9/370.html

none of it is as technical as it seems, except for the bonded gore stuff which functions better than you'd expect. past few seasons have looked pretty meh in the lookbook shots but then you see individual pieces and its good shit. womens mainline just started this season but its so fucking hard to find i have no idea where you'd get it. better than the mens probably (as cliche as this phrase is). i went to like 4 places when i was in tokyo looking for it and they didnt have it, not even the flagship. was back in jan tho.

moncler W is weird, very good things but also some weird shit. pricing is ludacris but it all goes to big sale so just wait.

other collabs rule, sauconys are so sick but $$$, tevas are the best tevas but they were only at the shibuya store and i assume long gone, they're doing barbours or something this fall but I've only seen pics of the 2 logos together on his insta

socks are a good entry point and go down to $25/pair most places end of season so thats when to buy (i got 4 from ssense this year). they're knit so that the inside is flat too, very easy to slide on even with big feet like me

also this is happening this year which is exciting: http://www.freshnessmag.com/2014/02/19/ ... n-preview/

i should probs make a dedicated thread

Thank you so much for all the info man. Out of what I've seen so far WM is quickly turning into my favorite brand, I figured you'd be able to give me some good info. I recently bought a WM jacket I had been lusting over for months off of rak and I'm still waiting for it to come in but I'm super excited and wanted to know more about the brand itself

Well, Chitose Abe (sacai) is married to Junichi Abe (kolour), and they have a really nice house: http://tmagazine.blogs.nytimes.com/2013 ... -in-tokyo/ .

Tangential, but that's what I've got.
