after 4 months i finally forced myself to go and get my mac dry cleaned before uni, when i got there i'm told it's £15 and it's not actually dry-cleanable so she'll put it in the machine. i feel there is a life lesson in there somewhere.

for the next month
5. Keep running when not swimming

2. [✓] handling brilliantly
3. [X] not even remotely
4. [✓] yes!!

5. [✓] and enjoying it
6. [X] haven't been mindful enough

JewTurk wrote:Year Goals (school year, that is):
-4s and 5s on all of my AP tests (Psych, Chem, Calc II, Physics, flaxy, Studio art)
-Raise my weighted GPA
-Top 20 in class rank (@33 right now, up from 60 soph year)
-155lb (healthy weight... not just 155 after a bulk)
-Start book club at school, have it be popular
-Revive Sherlock Holmies club (prof. hide and seek)
-Feel comfortable in everything I wear/approach a "uniform"
-Well worn pair of raws...
-Get a job I enjoy that is willing to give me same amount of hours as theater

End of August:
-Re-read Infinite Jest for flaxy
-Enjoy school/friends/don't stress

AP tests/GPA stuff isn't super important to me now because once I get all the info on what AP courses NAU will take I can decide which tests I want to actually commit to and because I got all of my scholarship info the only thing it requires of me is to get a B in my senior level English class which right now is without a doubt my easiest class (AP flaxy) and I have a 97% in it and I do pretty solid on all of my essays so I'm not worried.

Changed my availability at work so that I don't close anymore. Inventory on week nights is super dull and boring because I'm all alone and I know I could be studying for other classes so it just gives me anxiety. I only work box office shifts now (they're smaller, but waaaay less stressful) where I can read in my free time or do homework so I'm happy.

Need to start working out after I finish my online course to get my government credit taken care of. Been feeling pretty meh cause of my shitty diet/workout schedule so that's definitely next on my list right now. Book club got started at school, we call it breakfast club and do a monthly meeting with homemade breakfast and last months went super well!

Adding some things to my general list:
-Apply for honors college and get $1,000 scholarship to partake. Honors fee is only $100/semester so I'd basically be getting payed to take honors classes/get honors privileges which will be nice. And I can drop the honors classes if need be whenever I want.
-Finish my cinemark employee college scholarship essay. Few people who have applied for it got $1,000 towards their education so I'm hoping I can get that too.

Basically just prepping for college now. I already signed up for a free summer program offered to first generation college students which will be completely free and I'll get an english class and a liberal arts out of the way early.

goal for the rest of the year: do not drink alcohol in order to get drunk. meaning I can tipple a bit, but not get drunk. gonna review this policy in 2015. I guess I'm allowed to drink again on NYE, if I feel like it. marinara is still okay, of course

This quarter is finally over. I fell off the 'take care of yourself' wagon like three months ago and am coming back next quarter as a part-time student so i have a lot more time to focus on personal well-being.

Specific goals for the next three months:
Work out at least 4 times a week
Cook for myself daily and generally eat a healthy amount of food
Write my BA thesis paper
Stop smoking
Stop using drugs that my doctor doesn't prescribe
Get a job that I find fulfilling
Sew a lot more and work on designing my own patterns
Keep a clean apartment
Figure out something (even just provisionally) that I want to do after graduation
Go to church (at least a few times)

I must admit that I buried the no-alcohol goal a while ago because of unforeseen circumstances. I ask for forgiveness and understanding, thanks all

Have been thinking a lot about sustainability lately. In my future line of work (chemical engineering), nothing is worse than something wasted. Gonna make a conscious effort to use as little plastic as possible from now on.

I hope this bamboo toothbrush I ordered has soft enough bristles

I feel an adult, i dont do adult things, i want to fix that.

short term
- go to college
- organize my room a bit more
- record an album by end of summer
long term
- manager at Target (actually working towards this right now)
story: my current manager pulled me aside and told me i'm the only employee left from 2013's seasonal hiring and how far i've gone and how much i've learned. I told him how i'll be going to college for business management which is perfect for becoming a manager considering Target will actually pay for some of my tuition if i become part of the program. Another good thing is if i be part of this program (and get at least an associate's) I can use this anywhere else, not just target. Very excited!

- fluency in french

I know I just posted in this thread, but I think writing in here will motivate me for one reason or another.

Summer Goals:
-buy running shoes (cheap recommendations anyone?)
-run regularly (at least twice a week since my job requires some running)
-run at least once a week with @smass
-run a 5k in ~35 min
-teach myself microeconomics so I can test out of it at the beginning of next semester
-build furniture with my friend for our apartment
-eat healthier
-cook more
