when you pay for international shipping ($18) and then upon receiving the package get a COD bill for $42.

I already paid for you to send me the package, don't try to charge me again.

UPS is scum

fuck UPS

woah what how is that possible?

how can ups just hold your shit and not give it to you without you paying forty more dollars? do they not tell you about the charge beforehand? seems pretty shady

i have no idea. the total COD bill was $77. so with $18 shipping it came to $95 of fees on a $99 item.

I sent cncpts an email telling them to refund me the $42 because there's no reason I should have paid that given that I already paid for them to ship it.

I'm pretty furious tbh

I've been hearing about UPS brokerage fees in Canada for the years now. It's nothing new with UPS or Fedex, but I think UPS is the worse in the COD regards in Canada. It's just darn expensive to use non-postal service logistic companies, especially after paying for customs duties. They aren't subsidized when it comes to handling customs import/export. It sucks that you gotta order from abroad. :(

Maybe you didn't know...if I'm imposing here.

I don't get why the charges are separate from shipping. I'm happy to pay duties COD on the item, I get that, but when you pay $18 for shipping that should cover the cost of getting you the package.

so being a busser (my job) is pretty fuckin shitty and dehumanizing, and i'm trying to move up to host. I talk to management and apparently my HAIR is an issue and it's preventing me from moving up, so if i wanted to move up i'd have to shave off my ponytail MEANWHILE on the host team we have someone with blue hair and someone with dreads. especially since i've hosted a shit ton of tables when the maitre-d was in need and basically the entire host team is pushing for me

shit got me fairly heated flaxsisters

just to explain this, at my school people line up before the dining hall opens to avoid the lines, and people cut rampantly, so if i was to call out one person for cutting in front of me to get with their friends in line i'd have to call out all 20+ people doing it in front of me, which i REALLY don't feel like doing

in other situations i would actually talk to someone if they did that, but it feels kind of different when everyone around me is also a student and my peer, and it's something that happens so often
