Calling out other vancity lurkers - I know you're out there. Now's your chance to speak up and let everyone know when you're available for a meetup/give ideas for what you'd like to do at meetups. There hasn't been one in a while, so it'd be nice to have one soon.

Other ideas for using this thread

• As much fun as meetups are, there is no reason to wait 1-2 months to see each other. Post whenever you got an activity where you'd like some additional company, whether it be hiking/snowshoeing on the weekend, or an impromptu pub crawl. I know I got way too much free time right now and could use some activity, so feel free to tag me (smiling)
• Post events you're interested in/going to in the city, or share your thoughts on the event after its over.
• Post random city thoughts/stories (odd b-line/skytrain encounters, local photography/art, etc.)
• Post local sales. Not sure how long this lasts, but I got this email two days ago:

This map is a personal project of mine. Started as a means to give my cousin some recommendations when she was visiting. Her interests are vegetarian/vegan friendly world cuisine, so its currently tailored to that. Feel free to contribute suggestions, I'm always looking for new places.

Wanted to make maps for shopping and tourist activities too, just so it was easy to give recommendations when people asked.

Went there today, and the sale is still going on. Basically if you buy a sale item, you get another sale item of equal or less value for free. Only applies to sale items. Most of the stuff in Vancouver has been picked clean, but there was some Schneider in size 4 and 5, and EG in M/L that might work for you. I liked the look of these Grenson Spikes too.

You can look at other sale items here. I know there is a bunch more items/sizes in other stores.

To get a sale item from another store in the country, you have to pay for it upfront before they ship, unlike with full price items where they'll ship it to you to just try on. They won't do refunds, but will give you store credit if it doesn't work out - so helps if you know what fits you.

eh, GP styling isn't ideal for SS but you have to remember their customer base is totally different. they're trying to attract a broader audience in comparison to a smaller boutique like SP. they're gonna go for safer looks whereas SP has a certain aesthetic where the other brands they carry work very well with each other when trying to style the stuff.

So, kewks and I were interested in attending Fuse, at the Vancouver Art Gallery on April 25th. I like the end tagline on the website of "Vancouver's favourite see-and-be-seen event", which hopefully means there will be lots of outfits to admire. I've never been before, but the idea of mixing fashion, art, drinks, music, and live entertainment sounds too good to pass up.

Who else is interested?

Kinda short notice, but if anyone is looking for something to do this Saturday, me and a few friends are going to Sin City. Its a fetish themed costume ball that happens once a month. This is my first time attending, but I've heard nothing but amazing things about it. This particular party's theme is 'corset', which makes things relatively easy for the ladies (or guys too if you think you can pull one off).

Only thing is they are pretty strict about attendees wearing some kind of fetish outfit. No street clothes. This gives you a couple days to come up with/purchase/borrow a costume. If you want to come, but don't know what to wear, let me know and I'll try to help.

Turns out I got a belated birthday gift of two day passes to Vancouver Fashion Week. Going tomorrow or Monday, but thinking tomorrow. Monday could be good too though, and I wouldn't mind seeing the closing gala. My first pick to go with me to the shows is my sister, but if she can't make it then one of you here are welcome to a pass.
